Position Summary and Purpose:; Operate stacker type electric bridge crane servicing production floor, receiving, and vertical storage racks with movement of materials. Also operate forklift when necessary.

Duties and Responsibilities:

;ESSENTIAL:

  • Check limit switch, brakes, circuit breakers and other safety devices at the beginning of each shift
  • Operate stacker type electric bridge crane by manipulating hand levers to move or stop cab
  • When needed, also operate forklift, side loader, steelyard crane to move materials
  • Receive oral or written work assignment, pull material from storage, mark and identify all material pulled by part and lot number, deliver to appropriate work area
  • Organize steel plate and structural steel when needed
  • Assist in unloading of incoming material shipments using crane and necessary lifting attachments
  • Using pallets and vertical storage racks, stack such items as electric motors, tools, angel brackets, in-process work pieces using forklift truck
  • Perform picking and receiving duties as required and enter data in our ERP system
  • Maintain a clean and orderly work area and perform all assignments in a safe manner and in accordance with established quality procedures
  • Perform picking, receiving, etc duties as required in Epicor

;Education and Experience:;

;REQUIRED:

  • ;High School diploma or certificate of equivalency

;Valuable But Not Required:

  • ;1 year prior warehouse or manufacturing experience

;Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Characteristics, etc.;

  • General knowledge of crane and forklift operation
  • Attention to detail with ability to multitask and follow directions

Tools, Technology and Equipment Used:; Motorized material handling equipment (stacker crane, forklift, side loader, steelyard crane); chains, slings and other hoisting equipment, hand measuring and marking tools, personal computer

Physical Demands and Work Environment: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is highly mobile. This position is active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, reaching with hands and arms and climbing ladders daily. The employee is frequently required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls and to climb or balance.;

;While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to a variety of extreme conditions. The noise level in the work environment can be loud at times.;;

;The employee must regularly lift, move and carry up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
