The New York City Civil Court is recruiting for one (1) position in the Court Attorney series. The position will be filled in any of these titles and will be dependent on the qualifications and experience of the applicants selected.;

Court Attorney;

Position Overview:;

Court Attorneys research and analyze legal issues and questions and perform other related duties. They serve in a confidential capacity and under supervision of judges across various courts statewide.;

Key Responsibilities:;

• Research and analyze legal and policy questions.;
• Draft confidential memoranda, opinions, decisions, orders, and correspondence.;
• Conduct conferences with litigants and other parties as directed.;

Qualifications:;

• Admission to the New York State Bar; or;;
• Graduation from an accredited Law school and admission to the New York State Bar within (18) months of Appointment.;

Full-time; Base Salary: JG-23 $84,659 + $4,920 Location Pay;

Senior Court Attorneys take on more complex assignments and may support or guide junior attorneys while serving judges in various courts statewide.;

Key Responsibilities:;

• Research and analyze complex legal and policy questions.;
• Draft confidential memoranda, opinions, decisions, orders, and correspondence.;
• Conduct conferences with litigants and other parties as directed.;

Supervisory Responsibilities:;

• May supervise attorneys and support staff located in one or more courts within a county, judicial district, or department.;

Qualifications:;

• Admission to the New York State State Bar; and Two (2) years of relevant legal experience, including up to 18 months of pre-admission experience.;

Full-time; Base Salary: JG-26 $99,490 + $4,920 Location Pay;;

Location: New York City, Civil Court;

Associate Court Attorney;

Associate Court Attorneys take on more complex assignments and may support or guide junior attorneys while serving judges in various courts statewide.;

Key Responsibilities:;

• Research and analyze complex legal and policy questions.;
• Draft confidential memoranda, opinions, decisions, orders, and correspondence.;
• Conduct conferences with litigants and other parties as directed.;

Supervisory Responsibilities:;

• May supervise attorneys and support staff located in one or more courts within a county, judicial district, or department.;
• May oversee legal workflow, quality review, and attorney coordination.;

Qualifications:;

• Admission to the New York State Bar; and Five (5) years of relevant legal experience, including up to 18 months of pre-admission experience.;
